When you reserve a table by phone, we collect your name, phone number, the date, time and number of guests.
When you use our website, we may collect limited technical information such as your device type, browser, general location and how you use the site, through cookies and similar technologies described below.
If you tell us about allergies or dietary requirements, we use this information only to prepare your meal safely and with your consent.
Why we collect and use your information
We collect and use personal information to administer event reservations, check availability and capacity, confirm your place and keep you informed about your reservation. We also use it to respond to enquiries, provide restaurant communications where requested, maintain and improve our website, and meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
Disclosure to service providers
We may share personal information with trusted service providers who help us operate, such as website hosting providers and, where relevant, payment providers. These providers are only given the information they need to perform their services and are required to protect it. We do not sell your personal information.
Overseas disclosures
Some of our service providers, including hosting providers, may store or process information on servers located outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law, and we apply the following approach for each category of information.
Unconfirmed event reservation requests — Where you submit a reservation request that is not confirmed or does not proceed, we retain the request details for a short period, generally up to 3 months, to manage follow-up and respond to any related queries, after which they are deleted or de-identified.
Confirmed event reservations — Details of confirmed reservations are retained for the duration of the event arrangements and for a reasonable period afterwards, generally up to 12 months, to manage the booking, handle any follow-up and resolve any disputes, after which they are deleted or de-identified unless a longer period applies for the reasons below.
Cancelled reservations — Where a reservation is cancelled, we keep a limited record of the cancellation for a reasonable period, generally up to 12 months, to administer the cancellation and any refund, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
Event administration records — Operational records relating to running an event are retained for a reasonable period after the event, generally up to 12 months, for planning and quality purposes, then deleted or de-identified.
Customer correspondence — Emails and other correspondence are retained for as long as needed to deal with your matter and for a reasonable period afterwards, generally up to 24 months, to maintain a record of our dealings, then deleted.
Payment and transaction information — Where a payment is taken, related transaction information is retained as required to process the payment, manage refunds and meet financial record-keeping obligations.
Invoice, accounting and tax records — Financial records are retained to meet Australian taxation and record-keeping obligations, which generally require such records to be kept for at least 5 years from the relevant transaction or as otherwise required by law.
Technical and security logs — Website and security logs are retained for a limited period, generally up to 12 months, to support site operation, security and troubleshooting, then deleted or overwritten.
Privacy requests and related correspondence — Records of privacy requests and how we handled them are retained for a reasonable period, generally up to 24 months, to demonstrate our compliance and handle any follow-up.
Where no specific statutory period applies, we retain information only for as long as it serves a legitimate business purpose, after which it is securely deleted or de-identified.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including appropriate technical and organisational measures. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and keep our practices under review.
Access and correction
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Please contact us using the details above, and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Privacy complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), the relevant Australian privacy authority.
